Left For Dead

“Left For Dead” will be the long anticipated solo effort of Long Beach rapper extraordinaire Capitol Iman. Formerly of the famed Long Beach Duo Tha Mexakinz – as well as his rock/punk, hip-hop band Capitol Eye.

Having grown up in the American Samoan Islands, Hawaii and ultimately settling in Long Beach in the 7th grade – this artist is unusually multifaceted, multi cultured with a boundless talent, that know no limits. Left For Dead brings new and meaningful visionary intellect that is carefully laid out on hard grinding, base thumping tracks. The same style you have grown to love yet with an extraordinary story that not many fans know of. Just when you counted him out, the underdog has struck again!!

His musical catalog spans over two decades when one fateful day, while he was still in junior high, a mutual friend introduced him to Sinful a local Long Beach DJ. From that first introduction, they began working on music together tirelessly. A few years later Iman and Sinful went on to form Tha Mexakinz the first critically acclaimed rap duo to be signed to the Motown subsidiary Mad Sounds. With Iman’s rhyming in English and Sinful’s predominately Spanish lyrics, they went on to cross all cultural borders and stereotypes alike. They were responsible for such hit albums as Zig Zag, The Mexakinz and Crossing all Borders. Such hit singles as The Wake Up Show, Confessions, La Plaga and Phonkie Melodia. While touring they have packed venues while touring Internationally, as well as the entire Continental US.

In the late 1990’s/early 2000’s Iman formed “Capitol Eye” openubg up for such groups as Sublime and Slightly Stoopid. Following Capitol Eye – Iman ran into some hard times as well as serious legal troubles. However, those years proved to be the canvas for the intricate lyrics behind his new album.

What you can expect from Left For Dead? You can expect a total departure from his earlier work. Yet, do not be fooled, this is no sophomoric attempt at the title. This is one of the realest albums you will ever listen to along with the classic party bangers you have come to know and love from the artist.

The maturation of this album is so evident in each and every lyric. There are vivid accounts of the past ten years, hardships along with the “come-back”. Iman has taken his pain and transcended it poetically into this base pumping, perfectly rhymed and engineered work of art including exciting featured artists such as Il Mascaras and Block McCloud.

These tracks delve deep into the psyche of this brilliant and complicated artist. Iman has come out once again to take his rightful title and shut down any nose from haters alike. The album is not even out yet and the singles are already being extremely well received by the young and old of the hip hop community – it is a must buy.
